Niklaus Manuel Güdel is an artist, art historian and curator of Swiss and Costa Rican nationality. As an artist, he develops a work articulated around collective memory and personal memories, sometimes resorting to painting, sometimes to installation.
After carefully differentiating his two activities, he increasingly integrates his reflections as an art historian into his artistic work, sometimes even going so far as to make works after or around historical research, which gave birth to the Superstitions series (2021-2022), based on a painting by Goya. Since 2012, he has regularly exhibited in Switzerland and abroad and has published several monographs.
