Tetiana Kartasheva
(Ukrainian, b. 1989. Lives and works in Zurich)
Tetiana Kartasheva finds inspiration in diversity of organic shapes which she observes in nature.
Using an analog camera and black and white film, she captures patterns, forms, and rhythms inherent to plant kingdom. Later, in her studio, she translates that experience into visually balanced, carefully calibrated, lightweight compositions. This becomes the object of her minimalistic drawings, collages, sculptures, and installations, all reflecting the wonders and diversity of plant life.
